POTENT LEADERS

COACHING SERIES

Accountability: potent leaders create transparency

Potent leaders embed accountability by making progress visible. Having visibility of what each person in the team is trying to achieve means everyone opening themselves up to both help and feedback from others. It helps people get feedback and help earlier on, and contributes to building that sense of belonging through an environment of openness.

In this experiment, you’ll build on the first two accountability experiments by getting each person to set short, sharp, achievable actions for the week, and coming together as a team to celebrate how everyone has gone at the end of the week. The idea with this experiment is to build momentum of progress. When people know they are making progress on meaningful work, they are more likely to be fulfilled in what they are working on and keep going when it gets tough.

Start light with this one, and get more stretchy as time goes on. Always make the three actions achievable within the week though.
